C100 Hydrophone Calibrator
The C100 is a unique, inexpensive, tabletop chamber that is used to quickly and accurately measure the free field voltage sensitivity (FFVS) of a hydrophone by the comparison calibration method. It provides sufficient sound pressure levels for accurate calibrations in the transducer laboratory, calibration facilities, or aboard ship where test space and facilities are noisy and limited. The C100 has a piezoceramic acoustic driver that enables accurate in-water calibrations over a wide frequency and dynamic range without the expense, complication, and reliability problems associated with "loudspeaker" type calibrators. Its design and use is well documented in US Navy and contractor applications since 1974. The C100 can be supplied with a small inexpensive calibrated hydrophone for caparison calibrations.
